چکیده

Background In myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI), highly accelerated acquisition can be used towards reducing the compromises in the image quality (spatio-temporal resolutions, volume coverage, SNR) routinely observed with the current clinical protocols. In this study, we demonstrate the feasibility of a recent accelerated dynamic MRI scheme, k-t SLR (based on sparse and low rank properties) (Lingala et al. ‘11) in free breathing MPI. k-t SLR exploits natural redundancy in MPI by using (a) the high degree of temporal correlations, and (b) the sparse properties of the images in appropriate transform domains (finite difference transforms along space and time). It poses the recovery as a spectral regularization problem, allowing for the use of fast optimization solvers and flexible non-Cartesian sampling schemes. Here, we also include information from multiple coils to improve data consistency in the recovery. We demonstrate high accelerations with both rest and stress data sets. Comparisons are made with existing schemes such as spatio-temporal constrained reconstruction (STCR, Adluru et al ‘09) and k-t SPARSE/ SENSE (Otazo et al ‘10).

Accelerating free breathing myocardial perfusion MRI using multi coil radial k-t SLR.

The clinical utility of myocardial perfusion MR imaging (MPI) is often restricted by the inability of current acquisition schemes to simultaneously achieve high spatio-temporal resolution, good volume coverage, and high signal to noise ratio. Moreover, many subjects often find it difficult to hold their breath for sufficiently long durations making it difficult to obtain reliable MPI data. Acce...

Viable myocardium in reperfused acute myocardial infarction: rest and stress first-pass mr imaging.

Feasibility of identifying viable myocardium in rest and stress magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was evaluated using 3 hr occlusion and 30 min reperfusion model of left anterior descending (LAD) coronary artery in 12 felines. At rest MRI, viable myocardium confirmed by 2,3,5-triphenyl tetrazolium chloride (TTC)-staining showed rapid signal intensity (SI) rise followed by gradual decline not sig...

Performance of myocardial perfusion imaging using multi-focus fan beam collimator with resolution recovery reconstruction in a comparison with conventional SPECT

Objective: IQSPECT is an advanced high-speed SPECT modality for performing myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI), which uses a multi-focus fan beam collimator with resolution recovery reconstruction. The aim of this study was to compare IQSPECT compared with conventional SPECT interms of performance based on standard clinical protocols. In addition, we examined the concordance between convention...

The role of oral dipyridamole stress gated SPECT in assessing the response of the left ventricle to stress: Re-evaluation of an old method

Introduction: We aimed to assess whether the vasodilator effect of oral dipyridamole on the left ventricular systolic function in patients with suspected CAD is different from that of intravenous (IV) dipyridamole using Tc-99m MIBI myocardial perfusion gated SPECT. Methods: Eighty-nine patients (17 M / 72 W; 61 ± 10 years) were enrolled in this study. The patients underwent a dipyridamole stre...
